Step one is to get involved with the existing political structure … come to City Council meetings and see how business is conducted. Get to know the City Council members and understand what their policies are. Step two is to understand the City’s role in the community. The City doesn’t get to decide what businesses can and can’t locate within the city – but can help interested businesses get the most from their investment.
The city has no control over HEBISD and how or what they teach students, and no control over the amount of or cost of child care. Those are noble concepts, but not within the control of the City Council. Perhaps you should research the role of the City Council before deciding to make a run for a seat.
